About me
Hi! I'm managing editor and investigative reporter at 'Apache', a Belgian investigative outlet. My main topics are education, science policy, AI & technology, social issues and the (new) media. If you work on similar topics, do say hi!
Interested in cross-border work? We at Apache.be have a great track-record in international projects (f.e the award-winning Urban Journalism Network), so do reach out!
Being novel to data-driven research, I look forward to learn a lot at this year's conference. But what I look forward to most, is garnering inspiration on how to innovate our editorial operation. See you around!
My background
I discovered my passion for journalism during my student days in Leuven, where, for years, I was an editor and eventually editor-in-chief of the esteemed independent student magazine 'Veto'. Later on, while still being a student, I wrote as a freelance investigatve journalist with publications in EOS, MO*, Apache and Médor.
I hold a master's degree in history and an educational master's degree. I was the winner of the national 'Belgodyssee'-competition for young journalists 2024, organised by 'VRT NWS' and 'Knack'. As a result, I got to do a 6 month-long traineeship at the national broadcaster. Before joining Apache, I worked a few months at 'Het Laatste Nieuws', Belgiums largest popular daily.
I'm a big lover of nature, hiking, doing theater and birdwatching :)
